The motivation is that existing macro climate-economy models either abstract from heterogeneity entirely or focus on spatial heterogeneity across regions rather than income heterogeneity within regions. The paper fills this gap by modeling how the welfare consequences of temperature change depend on both the region a household lives in and its position in the income distribution.</p>
